After Joss Whedon revealed the title of the Avengers sequel at Comic Con this year, all doubts about who was going to be the villain were alleviated. It was Ultron, the evil robot, who was chosen to fight earth’s mightiest heroes. But now, rumors are circulating over the possibility of another villain. Who could it be? Well, Latino Review says it’s…
Now, there hasn’t yet been any official announcement, so it’s better to take the rumors with a pinch of salt.
In the comics, Strucker is the immortal leader of Hydra, the super-evil organization from Captain America. His inclusion would make sense, as a sole robot as the villain doesn’t seem as challenging for our heroes, and its monotonous voice wouldn’t be as entertaining as a bald scenery-chewing villain.
Latino Review says that (Spoiler?) Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be working under Strucker in the film. I can get behind that, because I don’t think the Avengers need two more members. Two superpowered villains, on the other hand, could even things out. Scarlet Witch’s powers are interesting, and I wonder how far Whedon is willing to take her.
The website also says that Marvel has “shown interest” in actors Marton Csokas, and Dougray Scott. Both are relative unknowns, which suits Marvel perfectly.
