The Last Days on Mars is a horror film about a group of mars explorers who encounter an alien life form that they thought was long dead. So one of the crew members has a secret mission of some sort, and he goes out on one last run to get some evidence of fossilized bacteria. Just as he takes it the ground falls out from beneath him. Now his team comes to find him, but when another goes missing, they realize the bacteria may not have been fossilized, but rather sleeping. IT’S ALIVE!
And it appears to possess people or something and turn them into zombies. So this is a pretty derivative flick.
The Last Days on Mars
The Last Days on Mars comes from director Ruairi Robinson. Yeah, that’s his name. I don’t know much about him, but he has some experience with directing, writing and 3D animation, so he at least has industry experience.
The Last Days on Mars Trailer
December 6, 2013.
Who’s In It?
Liev Schreiber . . . Vincent
What’s Good About It?
I like Liev Schreiber, even if he doesn’t get a whole lot of work. He’s always good. And aliens!
What’s Bad About It?
Schreiber doesn’t pick a whole lot of good films. He’s been in some decent ones, but he’s definitely not as skillful at picking the top roles like his lady love, Naomi Watts.
Our Clever Prediction
The Last Days on Mars will be released theatrically in December, but it’ll be On Demand first in October, so there’s little hope the film will be a big hit. I just don’t see this being great.
