The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair

The Chronicles of Narnia The Silver Chair

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair is the fourth book in the series of Christian allegories by C.S. Lewis. This time, young children are charged with finding and rescuing the son of Caspian, who is currently a king of Narnia. Very little is known about the film at present. No director or writer has been announced, and it looks like the studio may be waiting for The Dawn Treader to release before they commit to the next film in the series. However, we hear it is based on Eustace Scrubb and Jill Pole who set off on a magical journey in order to rescue King Caspian’s stolen son.

The Silver Chair is the first film in the series to not include the Pevensie children, who have thus far been the main characters in the series. The main characters are Eustace Scrubb and her schoolmate Jill Pole. Scrubb will be introduced to the series this fall in the third film in the series, The Dawn Treader. No doubt Jesus will make an appearance in Lion form.

Not yet, it is at least 1 year away

Release Date

Summer 2016 before The Silver Chair hits theaters.

Who’s In It?

Will Poulter is playing Scrubb in Dawn Treader, so he’ll probably return for The Silver Chair, maybe Ben Barnes will return as Caspian, and no doubt Liam Neeson will play Aslan again.

Interesting Fact

After writing the Chronicles of Narnia, C.S Lewis went on to start Scientology. He later published a rewrite of the Narnia series where Aslan is an alien who lives in a volcano. For some reason, it didn’t catch on.

What’s Good About It?

I’ve enjoyed the Narnia series thus far. Dawn Treader looks good, and I expect to enjoy The Silver Chair as well.

  1. I’m kinda of blown away by the “Interesting Fact” portion of this article. Perhaps I’m being obtuse, but where exactly did that information come from? It’s not at all true. Not any of it. In fact, it’s about as opposite to anything Lewis espoused as a christian writer as it could possibly be.

Did I miss the joke here or something?

  2. Just finished watching the Dawn Treader, and I cried at the end, like I always do 🙂

“The main characters are Eustace Scrubb and her schoolmate..”

umm Eustance is NOT a girl- he’s a boy, one of the Pevensie cousin’s

  3. Narnia is not heaven it is a mirror of our world a world that needs a savior (Aslan/God) there is much pain and suffering in both of our worlds but the goodness of God shining through his people and even those who haven’t accepted God into their hearts (all good things come from God. James 1:17) greatly outweighs the bad.

  4. Ok, I’ll make this simple so even a “Smart” person like you will understand. The minute that CS Lewis knelt down and prayed and admitted “God was God”, he became one of God’s children. He accepted “Theism” in 1929 ( The belief in one God) It took him 2 years before he understood who that one God really was, by believing in his Son, The Lord Jesus. John 3:3. (I can google too) Being baptized at birth doesn’t make you a Christian anymore then spending a night in you garage will make you a car. It is a spiritual change that comes from the heart. I sure hope a “Smart” person like you will understand that. My facts on Christianity come from the Bible. Where do yours come from?
