Star Trek Into Darkness (2012)

Shall we once more go where no man has gone before?

We shall.

Honestly, at this point there is virtually nothing known about the plot of this film, besides that it should follow the first film. And there will be some cool special effects.

And Karl URBAN!

The Scoop

J.J. Abrams is said to be hard at work on the new film, but right now he’s directing Super 8 and is producing 85 different TV shows and making a trillion dollars a year. His team of Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof, and Roberto Orci are expected to return to write the new film, but who knows? It’s just too far away!

But I expect lens flares. Oh yes I do.

Who’s It For?

Everyone who liked the first one. And PG-13.

Nothing confirmed yet, but…

Interesting Fact

What’s Good About It?

I really enjoyed the first one. I’ve seen a handful of the others, and I have to say it was easily the best. I’m not a big Star Trek fan, so I don’t have my head shoved miles up my colon, so I can say, without prejudice, that the first was good, I expect more of the same.

What’s Bad About It?

Karl Urban should be the lead.

And he should get to bang Zoe Saldana. Plus, do you think Abrams is regretting he picked Zachary Quinto as Spock? I think he did a fine job and all, but Heroes is over and went out with a really shitty whimper, so Quinto is kinda nothing now.

They should have just had Karl Urban play that part too.

Our Clever Prediction

The last one made almost $400 million worldwide, and since I’m betting they’ll make the new one in 3D (no word on that yet, but come on, everything is going 3D) so that should jack up the prices a bit.

It’ll make more than Avatar if they focus more on…
