Shazam gets a rocky villain, Big Hero 6 shows off a bit of charm, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice shows a concerned journalist, Men, Women & Children gets a colorful poster, The Best of Me has a new Lady Antebellum trailer, and The Equalizer has a new trailer and poster!
Well, even though they haven’t actually announced it’s getting made, The Rock has been cast as Black Adam in an upcoming Shazam film! He’s a great choice for the good or bad guy, though I have to say I think they screwed up by not having him play Shazam. The whole idea behind the character is a young boy named Billy Batson is given super powers by a wizard (not kidding) so that when he says “SHAZAM!” he turns into the world’s greatest hero. This hero would be everything a young boy could ever want to be, or, as I like to say, being the Rock. What kid doesn’t want that? So he’d have been better as the hero. Still, he’ll be a good Black Adam as well, and certainly looks the part. Cool.
Big Hero 6
Big Hero 6 has a rather fun new film clip that shows a meeting between Baymax, the robot, and Hiro, the boy. It doesn’t sound like their first meeting, but it’s pretty cool nonetheless. I like that the robot is actually for healthcare. That would explain why it’s so soft. Very cool. And the way it mentions the kid’s puberty was pretty funny as well. Not hilarious per se, but definitely funny. And charming.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is still filming a scene where Clark Kent talks to a lady on the street. I hope the conversation is him just listening to the woman’s terribly sad story about how her life was perfect and her and her husband just found out they’re having a baby, but then aliens came to Earth and had a slap fest and her husband died.
I hope the whole movie is that. Just Superman learning to, you know, ACTUALLY SAVE LIVES.
Men, Women & Children
Men, Women & Children has a decent enough new poster, though it looks like the two people hugging in the center are related, right? The only thing that really saves this is it looks like they drew in JK Simmons to the left of the unhappy couple. He always makes things better.
The Best of Me
The Best of Me has a new trailer with an intro by Lady Antebellum, who provided a song for the film that’s used extensively in the trailer. I still can’t get over how similar Liana Liberato and Michelle Monaghan look. And how not similar James Marsden and Luke Bracey look. 1 for 2. Oh, well.
The Equalizer has a new trailer, and I’m not sure how I’m feeling about the timing fights on his watch thing. At first I thought it was kinda cool. Kinda badass, you know? But the more I think about it, it’s inappropriate. He only fights to help people. Maybe he should take it more seriously and stop making it a damn game!
