Movie News for Robocop, Warrior, The Three Stooges, Smurfs, and Super 8!

Trailer for Super 8 and The Smurfs, a Jackass potentially ruins The Three Stooges, a writer is brought on for Robocop, and character posters for Warrior are revealed.

Super 8

The first full trailer for JJ Abrams’ Super 8 is online, and boy does it look like an ET ripoff. But note that when I say ripoff I mean in a good way. He seems to be taking the spirit of ET and making something that could very well end up really awesome. You don’t see many films like this nowadays. Of course, you never really saw many films like this, since there aren’t a bunch of ET’s in our history. Hopefully the film lives up to the potential.

The Smurfs

The Smurfs also rips off Steven Spielberg. Just kidding. It just looks stupid. “I think I just Smurfed in my mouth.” WOW. I think you just Smurfed in my brain. I do not forgive you.

The Three Stooges

Johnny Knoxville, mostly famous for being flipped upside down while in a portapotty, is apparently currently considering the role of Moe in The Three Stooges. Previous reports indicated that Jim Carrey was up for the role, with Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro playing the other two stooges. I can honestly say this looks all kinds of awesome. Not the movie, but the stupidity of the process of making it.

Josh Zetumer has been hired to write the story for the forthcoming Robocop film. He’ll be working with director Jose Padilha to bring the world’s best cop back to the big screen. Yawn. If the film doesn’t have a badass villain who says, “Bitches leave.” then I won’t see it. Okay, I’ll see it. But I won’t love it as much as the original.

The upcoming MMA film Warrior has a couple character posters out. Looks pretty cool. See, on one side is one brother; on the other side is the other brother. And the film will ultimately pit them against one another, but most likely some other fighter will badly beat one of them up, inspiring his brother to kick some booty. I’m probably right.

Brian brings to the site 4 years of online journalism, and attitude. Brian has probably offended you in his movie previews, and for that he won't apologize. Ladies, Brian is in a committed relationship with a woman who, thankfully, doesn't read Starseeker. It is this reluctance to read his work that keeps their relationship going. God bless America.

  1. I am curious if they will add sex and violence to the Smurf movie, since they seem to destroy every favorite kid moment of mine by doing so. Its as if the movie execs get together and say ‘yeah, we’ll remake another movie from the 70’s and 80’s but sex it up with violence and more nonsense so kids today can relate to it’

    I say bullcrap.
