Movie news for Avengers, Arrested Development and more!

Casting for Django Unchained, new Avengers pics, a poster for Mission Impossible, and the possible return of Arrested Development!

Django Unchained

Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained lost Kevin Costner a few weeks ago, but it appears he’ll be reuniting with his Deathproof star Kurt Russell, who is now in talks to replace Costner. Not bad. I like Russell, and I can’t wait to see him play a bad guy again for Tarantino. Cool.

The Avengers

Thank the good lord above that Joss Whedon is directing The Avengers. So much of what I’ve seen from this movie so far doesn’t look very good, but because he’s directing I still have faith. There are two new pics today, and they look… blah. Thank god Whedon is in charge.

Mission Impossible: Geriatric Colon Cleanse

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol has a new poster today, and it’s specifically promoting the IMAX nature of the new film, and it actually looks pretty cool. I’d want to watch this scene in IMAX. Bravo.

Arrested Development

No doubt many of you have heard about the possible new season of Arrested Development and the movie that would follow the limited run of the show. For those who haven’t, basically creator Mitchel Hurwitz said at an Arrested Development panel that his plan is to pitch a 9 or 10 episode limited season, with each episode focusing on a different character, and then do a film bringing everyone back together. Sounds like the greatest idea EVER. Let’s make this happen, people! Also, I can’t wait for the episode on Buster, Tobias, Gob, George Sr., Lucille, Lucille 2, Barry, Michael, George Michael, May Bee, Lindsay, and… okay, so I just want to see them all. I am sooooo happy.

Oh, and it probably won’t happen, but I like to keep hope alive!
