John Wick

John Wick is an action thriller starring Keanu Reeves as a former hit man who is hunted by a former friend. John has a contract on his head and has to get back in the game.

There aren’t all that many more details available for John Wick at present, but it does seem his former friend, and of course fellow assassin, has killed his family. So he’s not only trying to keep himself alive, but also trying to get revenge.

And he wears a black suit and tie. That’s cool.

John Wick

John Wick comes from the directing duo of David Leitch and Chad Stahelski. The screenplay was written by Derek Kolstad. Both directors have extensive experience as stunt/fight choreographers and second unit directors, so they’re sorta primed to make a splash.

At least the action will be cool.

Derek Kolstad is WAYYY cooler though. He last film was The Package. It starred Stone Cold Steve Austin and Dolph Lundgren. I haven’t seen it for some reason, but I’m guessing it was a drama.

John Wick Trailer

John Wick Release Date

October 24, 2014.

Who’s In It?

Keanu Reeves… John Wick
Adrianne Palicki
Willem Dafoe… Marcus
Bridget Moynahan
Jason Isaacs

What’s Good About It?

John Wick has Keanu, who is way better than Kea-old (that joke only works if you say it aloud), and Adrainne Palicki, who makes me think of fogging up car windows in a Denny’s parking lot.

Hot, but that kinda hot, you know?

What’s Bad About It?

Honestly, it’s an action movie directed by guys who know action, but may not be very good with story. That doesn’t bode well. And considering the pedigree of the writer… well, let’s just say this has ever chance of being absolutely terrible.

Our Clever Prediction

John Wick will be a flop. It’s supposed to come out in about 6 weeks and there isn’t a trailer. Either the release date has changed, which is usually a bad sign, or the studio doesn’t want to sink any money into marketing it, which is an even worse sign.

And it has Keanu. I changed my mind. I prefer Kea-OLD.
