The Harry Potter series is now over for some time, with the heroes getting their long-anticipated happy ending. Voldemort died, Harry lived, Ron married Hermione, Emma Watson managed to stay relevant, everything went as it was supposed to. But now, JK Rowling, the famous creator of these characters, who now lives in a castle made of diamond , has said that she made a mistake by hooking up Hermione with Ron. She told The Sunday Times:
“I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment. That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.
She went on to add:
I know, I’m sorry, I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I’m absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility. Am I breaking people’s hearts by saying this? I hope not.
Emma Watson said:
I think there are fans out there who know that too and who wonder whether Ron would have really been able to make her happy.
Hey stop bad-mouthing my man Ron! He is a decent chap and I’m sure he would be able to provide for Hermione. What if he reads this? Can you imagine what would happen to his self-confidence? You muggles need to keep your mouths shut.
