Gambit (2012)

Gambit is a remake of the 1966 classic starring Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine. Caine played a burglar who tries to steal from a billionaire using a woman who looks exactly like his dead wife, MacLaine. The original was a part action, comedy, and of course, a caper film.

The script for the remake was written by the Coen Brothers, meaning it will be awesome. Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Jumper, Swingers) is currently in talks to direct.

Who’s It For?

Similar crowds to those that saw the Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13 movies. Probably a PG-13 rating.

Movie Release Date

Script is written, just need a director and casting to get it going. Maybe late 2012.

Who’s In It?

Colin Firth… Harry Deane
Cameron Diaz… PJ Puznowski

What’s Good About It?

The original’s a classic, and the remake was written by the Coen Brothers. I’d buy a ticket now without even knowing the director or stars.

What’s Bad About It?

A lot of unknowns at present. Hopefully more news will be forthcoming, and the film will be made sooner rather than later.

Our Clever Prediction

It should get made. The premise sounds like a money maker, and with the Coen Brother’s writing, the story will be very well put together.

Ladies, Brian is in a committed relationship with a woman who, thankfully, doesn't read Starseeker. It is this reluctance to read his work that keeps their relationship going. God bless America.
