The Wolf of Wall Street looks decent in a new trailer (as does Mortal Instruments: City of Bones), featurettes for Despicable Me 2 and The Lone Ranger that feature stuff (as featurettes do), and a trailer for Riddick that’s SOOOO international.
The Wolf of Wall Street
I’m not 100% sure what to make of The Wolf of Wall Street. It’s certainly interesting looking, with Martin Scorcese reteaming with Leonardo DiCaprio yet again, and Matthew McConaughey looks absolutely hilarious in the film, and super skinny. Weird.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones
Every time there’s a new trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones I get a new impression of the film. Now I really want to see it. At first I thought it was going to be another Twilight-type film, but now it seems a lot closer to Blade or something like that (though not R rated). Lily Collins could sit on my lap and sing a lullaby.
Sorry, that was slightly off topic, but I’d let her see my city of boners any day. HUZZAH.
Despicable Me 2
Despicable Me 2 has a new featurette that’s hosted by Steve Carell, and he’s absolutely hilarious in it. Not intentionally, but it’s just really funny to see him do something so bland.
The Lone Ranger
One very cool thing about The Lone Ranger, and really a lot of director Gore Verbinski’s films, is that there are a lot of practical effects in them. Sure, there’s CGI. Clearly. But much like Christopher Nolan did with his Batman films Verbinski likes to shoot things on location, and really getting his actors to do the job. It makes a difference. The film is still gonna suck, but that’s a nice thing to see at least.
I’m going to hit you with a curve ball: there’s more than a new trailer for Riddick. There’s also a poster. BAM. Curve ball!
The poster kinda blows. BAM! Another curve! Anyways, the trailer is mostly just a new cut of the original trailer, so don’t expect much from it, though it’s nice enough and gets the point of Riddick being cool across. So enjoy that.
