<description>I was VERY impressed! As an ex-Marine and a student of the War in the Pacific, I was impressed with the attention to detail in the uniforms and weapons. I read all the books used in the film; Robert Leckie, Eugene Sledge and Sidney Phillips. I really feel it was a great tribute to those guys who were there nearly 70 years ago, my father included (he was with the 3rd Marine Division on Bouganville, Guam and Guadalcanal.
The only thing I saw that I had some doubts about was, it showed a lot of the Marines in the initial landing on Guadalcanal (August, 1942) using the U.S. Springfield M1903A3 and I don&#039;t believe they had the 03A3 in 1942.
However, the series was very well done and very impressive! Well done!
