Years of waiting are finally here, as The Pacific starts March 2010. Set in the same fashion as Band Of Brothers, The Pacific takes us on another real life journey through some of the bloodies battles of WW2.
A 10-part mini-series from the creators of “Band of Brothers” telling the intertwined stories of three Marines during America’s battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II.
The Pacific
From Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman — the producing team behind the Emmy® Award-winning and Golden Globe-winning 2001 HBO miniseries Band of Brothers — comes an epic ten-part miniseries event.
THE PACIFIC tracks the intertwined real-life journeys of three U.S. Marines across the vast canvas of the Pacific Theater during World War II. The miniseries follows these men and their fellow Marines from their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, through the rain forests of Cape Gloucester and the strongholds of Peleliu, across the bloody sands of Iwo Jima and through the horror of Okinawa, and finally to their triumphant but uneasy return home after V-J Day.
Why you care
Because everything you, and I, have today is because of the dedication and bravery of these men, and warriors of all allied forces of WW1 & WW2. Taking a little time to learn about the contributions of you fellow man, is the least you can do.

Our Clever Prediction
If you fell in love with Band Of Brothers, you’ll fall in love all over again with The Pacific.

I was VERY impressed! As an ex-Marine and a student of the War in the Pacific, I was impressed with the attention to detail in the uniforms and weapons. I read all the books used in the film; Robert Leckie, Eugene Sledge and Sidney Phillips. I really feel it was a great tribute to those guys who were there nearly 70 years ago, my father included (he was with the 3rd Marine Division on Bouganville, Guam and Guadalcanal.
The only thing I saw that I had some doubts about was, it showed a lot of the Marines in the initial landing on Guadalcanal (August, 1942) using the U.S. Springfield M1903A3 and I don’t believe they had the 03A3 in 1942.
However, the series was very well done and very impressive! Well done!
