The Zookeeper is Kevin James latest zany comedy, only this time, he works at a zoo instead of a mall or as a gay fireman.

All the animals love their zookeeper. He’s a nice guy, who gives them a lot of attention and care, but he’s lonely. Hilarious.

Anyways, the zookeeper decides that he has to leave the zoo and start to lead a normal life. But wait! The animals don’t like this idea, so they reveal their biggest secret: they can TALK!!

What? Crazy! Zany! Wacky!

So Dr. Dolittle gets advice from all the animals on how to win the girl and not be so lonely anymore.

Then (spoiler) the walrus eats him. The end.

The Scoop

The film is being directed by long time Adam Sandler buddy, Frank Coraci. He directed Click, The Waterboy, and The Wedding Singer, so he has the comedic sensibilities of a retarded 13 year old. Like me! Sandler is actually on board as the voice of the monkey, and they even got Mr. Expendable himself, Sly Stallone, to play the lion. And Cher is a giraffe.

Oh, sorry, that part about Cher isn’t about the film, it’s true to life.

And she voices a giraffe in the film. It’s a whole thing.

Who’s It For?

Gotta be PG-13.

Movie Release Date

July 8, 2011.

Who’s In It?

Sylvester Stallone … Lion (voice)
Adam Sandler … Monkey (voice)
Ken Jeong
Rosario Dawson
Kevin James … Griffin Keyes
Leslie Bibb
Judd Apatow … Elephant (voice)

Interesting Fact

Whoever wrote Dr. Dolittle should sue.

Oh, and Cher really is a giraffe now. She didn’t use to be, but the magic of plastic surgery really has done wonders for her.

What’s Good About It?

I actually like Kevin James. He was just so good in Hitch. And I could listen to Rambo voice just about any animal, but especially a lion.

What’s Bad About It?

I’m not happy about the director, plot, most of the cast (CHER), and pretty much the whole concept. Thankfully, this is America (or Canada, if you’re gay) and I have the right to choose not to see this movie.

Our Clever Prediction

I’ve just been informed that Canada is totally NOT gay, and that I also don’t have the right to not see this movie.

Go Canada!!!!
