The Way Back is loosely based on the events that occurred back in WW2, in a prisoner camp located in Siberia. Although the film has the talent to be a success, there is one huge problem.
The problem? The trailer for ‘The Way Back’ gives away the entire film, the guess work and leaves you wanting very little more. Just watching the trailer satisfies my need to see the film. Why did they do this? I have no interest now.
Set in World War II, the film tells the true story of a group of soldiers who escape from a Siberian gulag and journey across the harsh Asian terrain in order to reach British India. Hilarity ensues as they get shot at, freeze half to death, and even leave a loved one behind while they taste freedom and have sex with each other. Sounds like an Indian Reserve in northern Saskatchewan if you ask me.
Nope, and I probably wouldn’t post them anyways.
Movie Release Date
Who’s In It?
Good old Ed Harris, Jim Sturgess and one-time respectable actor Colin Farrell, before he went batshit insane.
What’s Good About It?
Escaping from labor/death camps is always a good thing.
What’s Bad About It?
I saw everything I needed to know about The Way Back in the trailer and I am satisfied I don’t need to see anything else.
Our Clever Prediction
Looks horrible, uninviting and a blatant rip-off of The Great Escape.
