The Hunter is a adventure thriller about a mercenary hired by a biotech company to hunt down a Tasmanian Tiger.
At first I thought this was a strange film about Taz, the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Toons. Like, how about a film from the hunter’s point of view?
But it isn’t. I don’t know why I bring it up, but it really made me think, y’know?
The story is about a man who is sent into the wilds of Australia to find the last Tasmanian Tiger, but there appears to be some sort of conspiracy working against him, and he’s following in the footsteps of another hunter who is now missing. The tiger is believed to have been extinct for almost 100 years. So he’s going to kill it off once and for all! Or save it. I can’t tell.
Daniel Nettheim is directing a script by Julia Leigh, who wrote and directed yesterday’s Sleeping Beauty. As for Nettheim, he has a fair bit of TV projects under his belt, but I’m not really familiar with any of the films. Rush… Snake Tales… Headland… I honestly haven’t even heard of these shows. Well, No doubt The Hunter is going to be super awesome. Emphasis on SUPER.

Movie Release Date
September 2011 , limited release. To be honest the film looks great, not sure why the limited release. Oh right, the theaters are full of STUPID MOVIES FOR THE IDIOTIC MOVIEGOERS right now, so there is no room for movies with a real plot.
Who’s In It?
Willem Dafoe … Martin David, Sam Neill
What’s Good About It?
I like the boldness of the title. The Hunter. I have an idea for a porn parody. I don’t think I should write it, but think of a word that rhymes with hunt. That’s right. The Bunter.
Also, Willem Dafoe rocks awesomeness.
What’s Bad About It?
I hate it when movies attack biotech companies. They’re the best thing ever!
Our Clever Prediction
Unlike Sleeping Beauty, which I predicted will make BILLIONS, The Hunter will make TRILLIONS. With a TR! I can NOT wait. Seriously. Totally.
