Piranha 3-D (2010)

Piranha 3-D is a remake of the 70s cult classic, but with a new twist. A modern 3D technology is being applied to the film to bring it to a whole new level. Sounds like something I could get into, even though we know it will be a bit corny.

Piranha 3-D

From acclaimed director Alexandre Aja (“The Hills Have Eyes”) comes the new action thriller PIRANHA 3D, in the latest eye-popping 3D technology. A new type of terror is about to be cut loose on beautiful Lake Victoria.

After a sudden underwater tremor sets free scores of the prehistoric man-eating fish, an unlikely group of strangers must band together to stop themselves from becoming fish food for the area’s new razor-toothed residents. But our heroine (Elisabeth Shue) is seriously outnumbered, and with only one chance to save the lake and her family from totally being devoured, she must risk everything to destroy the aquatic carnivores herself.

Why you care

It’s not often they get remakes right, but looking at the cast I think they are serious about Piranha 2010. The 3-D should be great, and bringing Richard Dreyfuss back to a killer fish movie is brilliant.

Piranha 3D Trailer

Release Date

March 19th, 2010 (wide) The film is being delayed till August 2010 now. Piranha won’t be coming out in April any longer.

Elisabeth Shue, Adam Scott, Jerry O’Connell, Ving Rhames, Richard Dreyfuss, Kelly Brook

Reminds me of

Jaws, Piranha 1978, Anaconda

The Good

Anything with Elisabeth Shue, plus Kelly Brook is naked in the movie

The Bad

You just know Ving Rhames dies first, because he is the only black guy in the movie.

Our Clever Prediction

Piranha 3-D (2010) should be a winner, we look forward to this one.

Movie Buff, critic and owner of this here online empire. I have probably offended some of you in my articles, and for that I am sorry.

  1. Also the film-making was brilliant. Alxander Aja is such a professional director, and to be able to meet, work, and hang out with him was an honor. Horror has always been my favorite genre of films since I was little. It should be pretty scary and VERY gory, the special effects group KNB Effects were AMAZING. Hope everyone likes it!

  2. To Admin,
You are very welcome. I’m in a few spring break scenes… one with Ving Rhames, and another is my death on the beach. I should be the end of the scene.. we’ll see how they edited it =)

    • @Britni Morgan,

Why do all the babes have to die in the horror movies? Why can’t we sacrifice a few big, ugly girls?

    • That’s awesome Britni, thanks for letting us know! If you can, let us know about the film, or your role in it, we would love to hear.
