Admittingly, I went into this movie with the predisposed notion that this movie was going to be below average. However, I have to admit I was wrong, Valyrie isn’t a bad movie, in fact its a wonderful story based on actual events that kept my interest till the very end.
The Truth
Valkyrie is a true story about the failed assasination plot/attempt of Adolf Hitler, and the events surrounding the plan. Tom Cruise plays Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg , who is recruited to carry out the plan to assasinate Hitler, and carry out Valkyrie, a plan to secure the city if Hitler were to fall.
The Action
A little in the beginning, but this isn’t really a war movie so much it is a Drama.
What’s good about it?
The story is so unbelievable, you would think it is a piece of fiction. Valkyrie eductates on more than just the plot to rescue Germany from the SS and Hitler, it goes into great detail about the plan after the fall of Germany and what was to transpire.
What’s bad about it?
Nothing, Valkyrie was a wonderful movie.

If you like a good drama, you’ll love this film.
The Verdict
This film got blasted by critics, but ignore the haters, they have clouded judgement. Valkyrie was a wonderful movie with more than enough memorable moments to give it a very high recommendation. One of the best I’ve seen so far in 2009.
