A drama centered on retired professional wrestler Randy “The Ram” Robinson as he makes his way through the independent circuit.
The Truth
I’ve been had again by the reviews. The critics said The Wrestler was terrific, a masterpiece. Really? Eh, guess what, The Wrestler was terribly boring and predictable and I never got attached to a single character in the film. I didn’t give a damn about anyone, no attachment at all.
The Action
Can we consider the wrestling scenes action?
What’s good about it?
What’s bad about it?
You’ll Like It If
I have a feeling the die hard wrestling fans liked, and will like the film.
What I learned
Women over 40 and men over 50, can still have wicked bodies.
The Verdict
Sure, seeing a naked Marisa Tomei was pleasant, she rocks a stripper pole 10/10, and watching a steroid ridden Rourque parade in his tights for 2 hrs was different, but …. was The Wrestler really any good?
No, not really. The performances were good, but the movie blew. Why hollywood had such a boner for The Wrestler is beyond me.
