The Scoop
In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick and Alex O’Connell unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin — a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard centuries ago.
The Truth
Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was everything the latest Indiana Jones pile of garbage, should have been. It was an entertaining journey that takes us through action filled moments and fight filled scenes. You have to endure quite a few cliches and redundant action moments along the way, but I didn’t mind too much.
The Action
Tomb of the Dragon Emperor succeeds in delivering a plethora of action, that begins around 15 minutes into the film.
The Laughs
Brenden Fraser and Luke Ford play a father and son team built around the same angle as Harrison Ford and Sean Connery had in the earlier Raiders franchise. There’s a few laughs here and there.. a few awkward ones as well.
What’s good about it?
Great special effects, lots of action and Jet Li’s performance is really good.
What’s bad about it?
I believe the film would have benefited more from focusing less on the relationship with Richard and Alex O’Connell and focused more on the wonderful battle scenes. I didn’t feel the need to keep being reminded there’s a strained relationship between the two, time and time again.

How old was Brenden Fraser’s character “Richard” when he had his kid? It appears only 10 years seperate the two.
You’ll Like It If
You feel the need for an adventurous film, loaded with action and special effects.

The Verdict
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was the best one yet in the series and 10x that latest pile of junk Indiana Jones was.
