The Invasion

Film Review: The Invasion

Starring: Nicole Kidman; Daniel Craig and Jackson Bond

Alien virus wreaks havoc across the world

Hollywood’s fascination with larger than life catastrophes continues unabated in this explosive action-thriller. When a space shuttle explodes upon re-entering the earth’s atmosphere, a viral strain unlike any other rapidly infects all who come near it.

Dr. Bennell (Kidman) – an acclaimed psychiatrist is rapidly tiring of the banter that accompanies her job. One day however, some totally bizarre conduct on the part of her patients arouses her suspicions. With entire cities suddenly complaining of flu-like symptoms and disconnected emotional behaviour Dr. Bennell becomes alarmed.

Her love interest and colleague, Dr. Ben Driscoll (Craig) supports her seemingly wild theories on the latest scourge. This is no ordinary outbreak though – the victims begin exhibiting aggressive behaviour and the more they sleep the worse they become.

In a race against time the duo must battle the odds to save humanity from near extinction. This is all-out action, with the usual predictable ending – but at least it’s still a great ride!</description>
