Rescue Dawn is one of the best movies of 2007, yet it was snubbed by critics, snubbed by movie goers and the academy. The same critics that raved about Die Hard 4 and other piles of crap, they didn’t like this film, but don’t miss it.

The Plot : A US Fighter pilot’s {Christian Bale} epic struggle of survival after being shot down on a mission over Laos during the Vietnam War. Dengler organizes a death-defying escape for a group of POW’s in a guarded containemnt in Lous.

The Truth : If you could combine Rudy, The Shawshank Redemption and The Great Escape into one epic story, this would be it. However, this film is not fiction, it is based on the real life events of Lt. Dieter Dengler. Dengler and his ability to motivate his fellow prisonsers and out think the guards.

The Action : Plentiful and captivating.

Favorite Scenes : The wonderful events in the POW camp, the intense survival outside the walls of the prison.

The Verdict : Christian Bale brings Dieter Dengler’s story to life. Rescue Dawn is a story of survival and faith which makes you forget it is a true story. Steve Zahn deserves an Oscar for his performance as Duane Martin, fellow POW who aids in the escape.

Rent it, or you’ll miss one of the best movies of 2007.
