I dragged myself to the theater to watch Rob Zombies newest epic failure to the Halloween series last night, and it didn’t disappoint. Halloween 2 proved to me what I already expected, this franchise is dead.
The Truth
Michael Myers is back, and he’s still pissed off. We get to see a side of Myers we never did before, as the film tries to tie in a few gaps we may have missed over the years.
Sadly, none of it held much of my interest. Perhaps its because I’m older now, I’ve been spoiled by the original with Jamie Lee Curtis, but this film had nothing to offer me. Sure, seeing a bearded, homeless Michael Myers was sort of interesting, the gore was much better than previous entries in the Halloween series, but its just more of the same.
The hospital encounter was creepy, hell the film was creepy from start to finish, I’ll give it that. I couldn’t help but chuckle as I’m still trying to determine if Myers is a supernatural killer, or half human half zombie?
Anyways, …. chase..run… stab…murder…head chopped off and encounter with a dead mother.
Releasing a movie about Halloween, two months before Halloween, is almost surrendering any hope you had for making the film a hit. Zombie wanted the film to come out early, in hopes it would make a second resurgence come DVD rental time, in October. Sad, but true.
The Action
Tons of action.
The Effects
Pretty good, the gore was off-the-charts and incredibly gross.
What’s good about it?
I have a crush on Scout Taylor-Compton and Sheri Moon Zombie, Michael Myers is still cool.
What’s bad about it?
The original theme music, the creepy piano… is gone, and I could care less about any more remakes. Kill this fucking franchise. I just can’t take any more remakes of original horror movies. Time to bury Freddy, Jason and Michael Myers once and for all. Oh wait, too late, Rob Zombie is now going to remake The Blob, because theres another film he hasn’t turned to shit yet.
You’ll Like It If
Die Hard Halloween nerds will probably like it.
The Verdict
Halloween II is ordinary, a weak plot and story, smothered with a shitload of blood and guts, in the hopes you forget how bad it really is as you watch it. If thats your idea of a good time, have fun, I’m done with Rob Zombie movies.

I am a very big Halloween fan and have been since the first one hit the movie screen. But this latest Halloween II sucks!!!!! Rob Zombie should be fired and never asked to do another one in my opinion. Maybe the directors of Texas Chainsaw can take on Halloween since they did such a good job with Friday the 13th. Going to see Halloween was such a waste of my money and time of my life that I will never get back

Well, I couldn’t agree more as your can see in my H2 review. Glad to see we have the same taste in movies, or at least Rob Zombie movies. I can’t believe they are going to let him destroy The Blob now, as he is remaking that as well now.

This film was a huge disappointment…and I am a HUGE Halloween fan. I set my standards low so that I wouldnt be disappointed and I was still disappointed. H2 was only in our movie theater for two weeks where the first one was in for a month or so. I love the original and I thin Rob Zombie did a good job on the remake but this film is absolitely horrible. the Friday the 13th-esque mom sequences mixed with a poorely written and unsupported structure make this movie complete shit.
