Death Sentence Review

The Plot
Nick Hume is a mild-mannered executive with a perfect life, until one gruesome night he witnesses something that changes him forever. Transformed by grief, Hume eventually comes to the disturbing conclusion that no length is too great when protecting his family.
The Truth :
If you didn’t already know, its a remake of Death Wish. Kevin Bacon is Nick Hume, and he’s seeking revenge for the murder of his son and family.
The Action :
Decent but nothing spectacular.
Memorable Scene(s)
No particular scene sticks out from another, its a pretty graphic movie at times and disturbing. I suppose I was shocked to see Norm from Cheers (George Wendt) cursing like a madman, and playing a badass.
The Verdict
I had a hard time connecting with Kevin Bacon’s character, which was odd. Charles Bronson played a much better badass although he’s a much worse actor. Kevin Bacon was the wrong choice for this movie, he has no place in a role as a physical lead male. Its just a dark movie from start to finish, with no surprise. Perhaps thats why I felt unsatisfied with the movie, because we all knew the outcome before watching.
Death Sentence is just a blah movie, with a dark undertone that leads us to a place with no surprises. Rent it if nothing else is in, don’t go out of your way to get it.. you won’t be thrilled.

Whenever I see Kevin Bacon, I am expecting Kenny Logins music to erupt, and Footloose to start rocking out in the background.
This was a rather dull movie, Death Sentence stunk.
