Sexy Keira Knightley brings this WW2 drama to life, along with a decent amount of drama.
Fledgling writer Briony Tallis, as a 13-year-old, irrevocably changes the course of several lives when she accuses her older sister’s (Keira Knightley) lover (James McAvoy) of a crime he did not commit.
The Truth :
Atonement is about two lovers, James McAvoy and Cecilia Tallis in a time when the world was about to enter war. Cecilia come from a family with money, McAvoy is hired help around the estate.
We are introduced to Leon Tallis, Cecilia’s brother and his creepy friend who manages to rape a cousin visiting for the summer. After his buddy gets his freak on with the young girl, blame is knowingly paced on Cecilia’s lover, James McAvoy, by a horrendous little shit sister Briony Tallis… and the story only gets more interesting from here on in.
When a letter not meant to be delivered, is read by 13 year old Briony, her apparent jealosy gets the best of her as her false statement sends James to prison for an alleged rape he never commited.
The Verdict :
One of the better movies I’ve had the joy of reviewing this year. A cinematic parade of wonderful dialogue and suspense, wrapped into award worthy performances by Knightley and McAvoy.

Great movie, however was slow at times. Ladies, never trust an Englishman with a bad moustache.
