So there’s a bunch of new X-Men stuff, and actually, there’s just a bunch of other stuff too.

X-Men: First Class

So first up, that cast photo the other day for X-Men: First Class? Apparently it was fake. Director Matthew Vaughn has very publicly made it clear that the photo in no way represents the film. So he released these other photos to make up for it. One question: Does Charles Xavier have to put his fingers to his head to indicate that he’s reading your mind? Also, is Kevin Bacon wearing an ascot? Wear do you get an ascot? Cause I want one.

Red Riding Hood

There’s a new trailer for Red Riding Hood, which sounds much more ominous today than I feel it would have in the past. Mainly because nowadays when I hear hood I think of gangbangers. And I don’t mean the fun sexy party type. I mean the ones who steal your wallet, watch, and probably your girlfriend. So they probably do have a fun sexy party, but I’m not invited. Anyways, this film looks like crap. Enjoy.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

It seems that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is once again without a director, as Mike White has left the project. I guess that removes the possibility of Jack Black in the role of Mr. Darby. Natalie Portman is still said to be producing, but I doubt she’ll be in it, what with that baby in her vagina and all.

OZ, The Great and Powerful

Sam Raimi’s OZ, The Great and Powerful has lost its star, Robert Downey Jr. It appears that Downey is a wizard in real life and doesn’t want people to know about it. Oops. Too late. The studio is trying at present to sign Johnny Depp, with rumors afloat that he may be negotiating for the role. I don’t buy it though. I bet he wants to play the Tin Man or something. Something AWESOME.

Three Musketeers

I wish this was about the candy bar. Unfortunately, it’s about an abomination. That’s right. That Three Musketeers 3D (3D Musketeers? Crazy) is still being made, and now there’s some photos. Yeah I know there was already a photo before, but not with sword fighting. Well, sword fighting and standing in line. Perhaps they’re about to be shot, cause of all the sword fighting.

Black Panther

This is weird, so I’ll tell you. Marvel Studios has hired a writer for a Black Panther movie. Cause EVERYONE and their mother is looking for that to be made. (note: they’re not) They’ve deemed Mark Bailey the man for the job. He’s a pretty serious dude, having worked mostly in the documentary world on subjects like AIDS and Abu Ghraib. No doubt Black Panther will be a feel good romp. In all seriousness, it could be cool to get a retelling in a real world setting, with T’Challa the king of a country ruined by AIDS, and he has to fight some white devil or something. It would also be cool if Mark Bailey completely misunderstands the project and writes a film about the Black Panthers, and we end up with some mashup of the comic and Malcolm X. Could the Black Panther wear a bow tie?
