A lot of news today. Trailers for Johnny English, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Anonymous, pics from Fright Night, Stooge Castings, and some Hobbit news (BAM!).

Johnny English: Reborn

I love Mr. Bean. So it’s only fitting that I start today’s news with the trailer for Johnny English: Reborn, which is a sequel to Johnny English from… a while ago. Basically, it’s Mr. Bean as James Bond.

Crazy, Stupid, Love

Has anyone else noticed how Crazy, Stupid, Love is really less a title, and more just a series of words? I’m sure the writers and/or producers thought it would be clever, but it’s kinda annoying to me. I kinda like the trailer though. Ryan Gosling in something I don’t hate. Hmmm… Yep, the world is ending.

Anonymous

Roland Emmerich’s Anonymous, which is about how Shakespeare was a fraud and it was really somebody else, is going to be a stupid piece of crap. And I bet there’ll be some History Channel specials about how it REALLY might be true, and Emmerich will say how he TOTALLY believes he has it right. Blah blah blah. Stupid. Here’s a trailer. I’m sorry.

Fright Night

The Fright Night remake with Colin Farrell as a vampire has a few photos out. I want to say bad things. But I can’t. It actually looks kinda… okay.

The Three Stooges

The once sorta promising sounding Three Stooges film from the Farrelly Brothers has cast Sofia Vergara. Admittedly, this does make it more likely I’ll see the film, but while it’s MORE likely, that doesn’t mean it’s likely. Vergara is set to play a devious woman who hires the stooges to kill a man in his sleep. I don’t really remember that episode.

The Hobbit

Finally, the news you’ve all been waiting for: Andy Serkis, who plays Gollum/Smeagle in the Lord of the Rings films and will reprise his role in The Hobbit, will be serving as second unit director for the films as well. This makes sense, as Serkis has a pretty deep understanding of the films. For those of you who don’t know (Canadians) the second unit director is essentially the director for smaller shots. Not necessarily whole scenes, but for shots like of the ring in Gollum’s hand, or something like that. Maybe the shots of Bilbo getting his shoes on. That sort of thing.
