New trailers for The Awakening and Cirque du Soleil, a TV spot for Total Recall and a film clip from The Expendables 2.

The Awakening

Though I don’t think it’s going to make a lot of money, I do think The Awakening is going to be good. The trailers have been solid for this period piece horror film, and I like the idea of doing a pretty common film idea, the “ghost hunter finds a real ghost” thing in the past. With Rebecca Hall in the lead it looks really solid. I’m very hopeful that people will like it, but like I said, I don’t expect it to make big bucks.

Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D

Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D is the one film I actually think should be in 3D. It usually sucks, but I’ve always wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show, and I’d prefer the experience in 3D. Also, nature shows.

But MOSTLY Cirque du Soleil. Mostly.

Total Recall

Total Recall has a new TV spot that pretty clearly illustrates the central story McGuffin, which is that Colin Farrell will have his mind and personality replaced, and now has to figure out some sorta mystery.

Or something.

Hmmm…. Maybe it’s not as clear as I thought.

The Expendables 2

Can we all just agree right now that the next Expendables film, which I hope will be in 3D, will be the really good one? The one where shit gets real? Where both Segal AND Vin Diesel get expended?
