Movie News for Superman, The Dark Knight Rises, Pirates, and more!

Flying Brian Banana Hammock February 22, 2011 0

Not a ton of news so far today, but we do have a rumor about Superman, a video of Tom Hardy talking about playing Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, a little score news for Pirates of the Caribbean, two Battle: Los Angeles film clips, and Bieber news, because CANADA IS THE DEVIL.

Superman

More casting rumors are circulating for Superman: The Man of Steel. This time, it appears that Zach Snyder and the studio are approaching Kevin Costner for a role in the film, but as of this time there is no word on what possible character he might be playing. Everything from Pa Kent, Perry White, Jor-El, or possibly a villain have been suggested. I will add another suggestion. How’s about Jimmy Olson? Hmmm? It would be such a bold move.

The Dark Knight Rises

Here’s a little video of Tom Hardy on a talk show talking (it IS shocking to talk on such shows) about his role in The Dark Knight Rises. He mostly talks about how much weight he’s going to put on for the role and how it’ll differ from the Bane from Batman and Robin.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Hans Zimmer, the legendary composer, is going to be working with Rodrigo y Gabriela for some of the score for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. This is actually pretty cool news. Rodrigo y Gabriela is a Mexican guitar duo, and they are crazy good at what they do. Taking their tone and making it part of the score for a film like Pirates is going to really add something. I doubt it’ll be for more than a few parts of the film, but you never know. You never know. Y’know?

The Bieb

Canada. Hell. A bad place. Also known as… the SAME place. Anyways, after the success of Justin Bieber’s 3D movie, the studio has decided to release a “Director’s Fan Cut” of the film. The film will only be in theaters for one week, but will feature an additional 40 minutes of footage. If it is playing next to Big Momma’s House, and someone walks past them both, they’ll go blind, lose control of their bowels, and die. It’s science. I’d explain it, but there’d be all sorts of really complicated terminology, like… algebra and quadratic equations and less than or equal to and… other stuff, and I don’t want to intimidate all of you with it. Just be careful. I don’t want you to die, lose control of yourself, and die. If you die, who will tell me I’m beautiful?

Answer: women. But I still like to hear it from you.

Battle: Los Angeles

Two film clips from Battle: Los Angeles are online. They look decent, although I haven’t seen anything that excites me for the film since the first trailer. Nothing has turned me against the film, but I’m not really excited. You’re welcome for that insight.
