A new huge banner for The Hobbit, a film clip from Red Dawn, a TV spot for Alex Cross, a featurette for Seven Psychopaths, and pics for The Lone Ranger and Skyfall!
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has a new banner that shows you Gandalf, Bilbo and all the friggin’ dwarves. There are a lot of dwarves. I actually work with a little person in real life, and I always want him to take me on a magical journey. An… unexpected magical journey.
He’s cool though. I think little people have the benefit of having the same amount of awesome as a full size dude, only crammed into a smaller package, so it’s more pure and badass. Like condensed milk.
Red Dawn
Red Dawn has a new film clip, and it’s really not all that cool. We’ve seen this scene more or less in its entirety in the trailers up to this point. But now we get to see it all at once, in the correct order. Yippee.
On a side note, I’ve read a few reviews and Red Dawn is supposed to be AMAZING and not at all a really shitty film that will make you want to punch yourself in the balls for watching. You can totally trust me on that. I would never lie to you. Would a former astronaut who gave up his billion dollar fortune to help starving children while fighting terrorism lie to you?
No. He wouldn’t.
Alex Cross
Alex Cross has a new TV spot, and I’ll be honest, this film looks really good. There hasn’t been a good detective chasing a serial killer film in a while, so I’m thoroughly excited for this particular version. Good stuff. The bad guy, played by Lost’s Matthew Fox, looks quite menacing as well. MENACING.
Seven Psychopaths
Seven Psychopaths has a new featurette that’s very red band. Most of the actors swear a bit. I like that. NAY. I FUCKING like that.
I do like that they compare the film to In Bruges, which was a heck of a lot of fun.
The Lone Ranger
The Lone Ranger has a bunch of new photos today, and they pretty much check all the boxes for a cowboy flick. Horses? Check. Shootouts? Check. A train? Check. Johnny Depp with a bird hat?
CHECK.
As far as I can tell, they’ve really nailed it here.
Skyfall
Skyfall has a couple new pics today as well, and while I don’t like them as much as the Lone Ranger ones, they’re not bad. The babe looks babilicious. Bond shoots a gun. Javier Bardem does his… blond thing. WORKS FOR ME.
There’s ALSO a new featurette that discusses the logistics of shooting underwater for a few of the scenes, and it’s actually quite cool to see how they relay info to the actors when they’re underwater. Loudspeakers, underwater monitors, it’s pretty cool. I do the same thing when I’m filming love scenes underwater. I except I just point to my peep and make crude gestures.
The gals tend to get the point.
