Posters for Robocop, Argo and Skyfall, a new featurette for Looper, and a trailer for Great Expectations.
Robocop
Robocop has a new poster that really shows nothing but the stupid color of the new suit. I feel like this Robocop is an Android phone, and everyone wants an iPhone.
WHY DIDN’T STEVE JOBS MAKE A ROBOCOP? YOU KNOW IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWESOME.
Argo
Argo has a new poster that has a bit much of Ben Affleck’s face. Still, the tag line “The Movie was Fake. The Mission was real.” is good enough. You know what would be really cool? If THIS was a fake movie too, and Ben Affleck has been saving lives in every one of his films.
That would explain why Daredevil was so bad…
Skyfall
Skyfall has a new poster, and darned if Bond doesn’t look suave as crap with his tux. My gun’s bigger though.
And no, I don’t own a firearm. ZING!
Looper
Looper has a new featurette, and surprise of all surprises, it actually shows something new! The one thing I’ve been wondering about is Bruce Willis’s role in the film. He’s the older version of Joseph Gordon Levitt’s character Joe, but it seems like he’s just sent back in time to be executed. But he also seems to have been prepared for this possibility. So I believe they’re implying he came to the past with a purpose. Something about righting a wrong. That gives me even more hope that this film will rock, and I already had a fair bit of hope!
Great Expectations
Great Expectations has a new trailer for UK audiences. This is turning out to be a beautifully shot film that reminds me quite a bit of Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley. The only problem is this is a much darker tale and has a darker visual tone. I don’t love that. Nothing wrong with dark, but Pride & Prejudice had such wonderful visuals. They can be accurately described with the word splendor. This does not have splendor. It has beauty, but a pained beauty. This may be good or it may be bad for the film. I’m cautiously optimistic.
