Casting news for Logan’s Run, Jack The Giant Killer, Rock of Ages, Savages, Red Sonja, images for Winnie the Pooh, and a trailer for the unfortunate Arthur.

Logan’s Run

No, the film isn’t about Wolverine running a marathon for charity, but that would be awesome. Rather, Logan’s Run is a remake of the original film, but this time it’ll star Ryan Gosling. Yeah, cause HE’S an action star.

Jack The Giant Killer

Jack the Giant Killer, directed by Bryan Singer, has found its star: Nicholas Hoult. Hoult will be in the Singer-produced X-Men: First Class this summer has Hank McCoy, aka Beast, so Singer apparently feels this kid has some serious star potential. The film is about the Jack and the beanstalk fable, only more adult, with the giants and man fighting a war against one another. Yippee.

Rock of Ages

Word on the street (street meaning the internet) is that Tom Cruise is in final negotiations to star in Rock of Ages, a musical with rock music, if you count Bon Jovi as rock (I do). I guess this is cool. I am assuming that the film will be altered to allow for the “Rock” to have something to do with aliens living in volcanoes, and only level 5 followers of Xena will live forever. Whatever. Sounds good.

Savages

Jennifer Lawrence, who is currently haunting my dreams, and is also currently playing Mystique in X-Men: First Class and enjoying her year in the spotlight thanks to an Oscar Nom, will next be tackling a role in the Oliver Stone film Savages, about a couple of youguns who have to deal with a Mexican drug cartel. Lawrence is apparently the girl who gets kidnapped, cause that’s what happens to girls, and her friends try to get her back. Wheeeee. I hope she’s naked.

Red Sonja

To be fair, this one is still just a rumor, but it’s a rumor that was started by the producer. Anyways, Red Sonja, which a few years ago was going to be directed by Robert Rodriguez and star his lady love Rose McGowan, will now be directed by Simon West, and the studio is looking to cast Amber Heard as the star. All I know is the character is a hot babe in a chain mail bikini with a sword. And I would love to watch Amber Heard as that. I AM SOLD.

Winnie the Pooh
