Casting news for GI Joe, World War Z, Savages and Argo, and there’s a poster for Our Idiot Brother. Not a ton of stuff for a Friday, so I’m also going to give you a 4 word review of Super 8.

GI Joe

A few days back it was revealed that The Rock will likely play roadblock in GI Joe 2. It looks like they’ve found their lady to play Jinx as well. Elodie Yung, a little known French actress who is in this year’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (not as Lisbeth Salander). So… great. I don’t remember Jinx, but she was a ninja or something.

World War Z

More like World War ZZZZzzzzzzz. Am I right? Anyways, World War Z is getting closer to its start date, and casting has continued with James Badge Dale coming aboard to play a military officer who is one of the first to encounter the zombie plague. Dale was in The Pacific, so if you know him, that’s probably the source of your knowledge. He was also on AMC’s Rubicon, but nobody watched that so don’t bother looking it up. It was cancelled.

Savages

Oliver Stone’s Savages has cast Demian Bichir as… somebody. Whatevs. Bichir is mostly known from his role on Weeds, where he banged Mary-Louis Parker’s character.

Argo

Ben Affleck appears to be continuing his directing career with Argo, a film about the Tehran hostage thingy that happened in real life I think but don’t know because I live in a van down by the RIVER. He has cast Alan Arkin as Lester Siegel. No doubt this casting is awesome.

Our Idiot Brother
