Dark Knight Rises vocal news, Avengers reshoots, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo sequel possibility, Spider-Man Goblin video, and a time machine from Looper.
The Dark Knight Rises
Though he is normally not one to allow studio pressure to influence his work, The Dark Knight Rises‘ director Chris Nolan has apparently caved regarding Bane’s voice work, done by Tom Hardy. After the prologue hit a few weeks back, there were quite a few comments about how hard it was to understand what Tom Hardy is saying, and even in the trailer it can be difficult to make out his dialogue, so Nolan is going to be doing some tweaking of the sound so he’ll be more intelligible. Smart move. It’s not like you want your audience to understand the villain or anything.
The Avengers
Though it wrapped a few months ago, The Avengers is reportedly going to be doing some reshoots in the next couple weeks in Los Angeles. No word yet on what will be reshot, but I like to think it’s all the scenes with Chris Evans, as they’ll recast the part of Captain America cause he sucks.
Also, new Hulk Mark Ruffalo had this to say about the deeper meaning of the film:
“You have all these disparate egos, superheroes in this and that, and they refuse to give up some of their positions in order to make a more perfect union and to join the team,” Ruffalo says.
“That’s really what the whole movie is about: subjugating your own best interest momentarily to further that of the whole,”
So… yeah. Sounds about right, I suppose.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
So far, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has grossed about $60 million domestically. On a $90 million dollar budget. Based on my immense American mathematical skills, that means it’s made about… $132.6 billion? Darn it. I should’ve taken the Canadian math class.
Wait. WHAT? Did I just… compliment Canada? Holy balls.
I… I… I… The world has no meaning. Left is right, up is down, Canada isn’t… stupid?
Oh, right. TODAY IS OPPOSITE DAY. I always forget that lands on the first Tuesday of the year.
Anyways, though The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo hasn’t exactly broken box office records, the studio is still pretty psyched to make a sequel, and possibly the entire trilogy. Stars Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig are both signed up for sequels, but so far David Fincher hasn’t come aboard. If I had to guess, I’d say he’ll probably just be a producer on The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, but one never know. Does one?
Spider-Man
To be fair, this isn’t from next summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man. Rather, this is test footage from the original Spider-Man. It’s of a test concept for how Green Goblin’s mask/helmet could have looked. Personally, I prefer it to what they used. I always thought it was a crime to cast Willem Dafoe and not fully utilize his animated face for the Goblin. Take a look, true believers!
Looper
Looper, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a contract killer who send the bodies of his victims back in time so there’s no trace of them, has its first pic up. It’s of the time machine used in the film. If I was going to dispose of human bodies, that’s where I’d do it. Five stars.
