Casting for Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, videos for Prometheus, a poster for The Dark Knight Rises, pics from the Amazing Spider-Man and a film clip from Killing Them Softly.
Iron Man 3
Iron Man 3 has just started filming, but the film (which has reportedly received a pretty big budget boost because of the success of The Avengers) is still doing a bit of casting. Today it appears they’ve cast Ashley Hamilton as Firepower, a minor villain from the comics. Firepower isn’t much of a villain, just some dude in an experimental suit that Iron Man beat up a few times. He’ll probably be used as cannon fodder in Iron Man 3. Sounds good to me.
Thor 2 is also in the villain casting business recently, with Mads Mikkelsen possibly playing the lead villain in the film. There’s no word as to who the villain he may play is, but he’s a pretty good villain, so I think he’ll work well enough.
I have a couple new videos from Prometheus for you today. The first two as featurettes that focus on how badass this film will be. I think it’s important to note that the marketing for The Avengers was quite similar to that for Prometheus, as both films are seen as big moments. I think they’ll try to do the same thing for The Dark Knight Rises, as it’s the finale of Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy, but that’s not as epic as Ridley Scott’s return to Science Fiction or the combination of a number of big heroes for a big action flick.
The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises has a new poster that was apparently hidden with a QR Code on a poster in a movie theater. We’ve seen said poster online before, but only the physical ones had the QR code on them, which, if you scan it, takes you to this poster. And it is an awesome poster. Cool.
The Amazing Spider-Man
The Amazing Spider-Man has a couple new pics up today, though overall I have to say I’m not overly impressed. The pic of Peter and Gwen is especially not cool, as it looks like the cool guy in school and the pretty girl who he treats like shit. Seriously, Peter Parker is supposed to be dorky, not dark.
Killing Them Softly
Killing Them Softly… with his words, blah blah blah blah blah… with his words.
Killing them softly…
So here’s a clip from the upcoming Brad Pitt gangster movie Killing Them Softly, which reunites him with his Assassination of Jesse James director. The clip is of Pitt’s Jackie Cogan, a mob enforcer, and he’s arguing to hire a hit man. $10,000? Man, I’d kill a guy for that.
