Movie news and corrections, baby!

There’s a fair bit of stuff so far today. Oh, and only ONE entry in the contest? Screw you guys.

Submit a country, dammit. HERE.

Battle: Los Angeles

There’s a new trailer up for Battle: Los Angeles, and I’m surprised to say that it still looks good. I thought that first trailer was a fluke. Live and learn. Live and… learn.

Priest

Hey! A new trailer for Priest. The film stars Paul Bettany. He’s from England. That would make a decent country to mock. Don’t you think? The film also stars New Zealander Karl Urban. And Christopher Plummer who is… Canadian. Nevermind. Just enjoy the damn trailer.

Dredd

The new Judge Dredd film, Dredd, has cast 300′s Lena Headey as the main villain, the leader of a gang in Mega City One. The film also stars Karl Urban. New Zealander. Oh, and, oddly, Lena Headey is from Bermuda. I thought no one ever got out of there alive. Huh. Did the TV lie to me? No. You lied to me. Lie of omission. Cause you’re not VOTING.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Finally! We have our first official look at Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander, also know as the broad from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I know this is a ra ra girl power thing, but she looks kinda dikey. Is Lisbeth a lesbian? I never read the books. I’ve been meaning to, but I keep reading actual literature.

I do kinda like the ass tattoo pic though.

The Dark Knight Rises

In another in a long list of rumors concerning The Dark Knight Rises, it appears that Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel are all going to test for the film in the next week or two. The film should start shooting in the next few months, so casting must be rough going. No official word on what characters the actresses are testing for, although it is said that one will be a villain, while the other will be a love interest. Many suggest Catwoman, but Talia Al Ghul, daughter of Batman Begins’ Ras Al Ghul, is also a likely contender. If the film follows the Batman comic Prey, the love interest may be a do-gooder daughter of the mayor, although I could see them casting the love interest in the role of new DA for Gotham. On a side note, which name, of the three suggested, looks most out of place? Yeah, Jessica Biel isn’t getting it.

Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair

It has recently come to my attention that my preview for the potential sequel in the Chronicles of Narnia series, The Silver Chair, may have some inaccurate information. A diligent reader wrote in and said that C.S. Lewis did not come up with Scientology and the books have nothing to do with Zenon. If you had checked his Wikipedia page a few months ago, when the truth was still up, you would have seen that he did love Scientology and believed in monsters in volcanos. Or aliens. Whichever. Unfortunately, some vandal has messed up his page, and it no longer shows the truth. The page cannot be edited right now, but I am petitioning Wikipedia to correct this information.

Now, for a new contest. Who wants to guess which country the guy who challenged my authority on Scientology is from? Hint: it isn’t Egypt.
