Final Season of ‘Mad Men’ to be split into two parts

After Harry Potter and other movie franchises dividing their last installments into two parts, in a transparent attempt at maximizing their revenues at the cost of artistic integrity, it seems now TV-land has also picked up the habit. The last season of Breaking Bad is constantly hitting it out of the park, with one riveting episode after another. And the masterpiece is being watched by millions. The latest episode was its most watched episode of all time. This success can be attributed to dividing its last season in two parts, which gave newcomers more time to catch up with it through Netflix and Blu-Rays. Now, AMC is doing the same thing with its other big show, Mad Men.

According to LA Times, the seventh and last season of the show will be split up into two parts, each having seven episodes. The first part will be called The Beginning, and the second part will be called The End Of An Era. They will air in spring 2014, and spring 2015 respectively.

Show creator Matthew Weiner said:

We plan to take advantage of this chance to have a more elaborate story told in two parts, which can resonate a little bit longer in the minds of our audience.

Yeah, right. It has nothing to do with the fact that Breaking Bad is ending and AMC doesn’t have any more good shows. (Unless you count Walking Dead, but why would you?)
