Mega awesome day! Super trailer premiere! Movie news extreme!
Sorry, I’ve been watching a lot of Japanese television, and I want to reach out to my loyal fan base across the ocean. They hate Canada too, right?
Well, they should.
Pirates of the Caribbean
There’s a featurette up for Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch. It apparently is trying to explain to people what the film is about, but all I see is hot broads doing stuff that makes grown men cry. Cry happiness.
One thing continues to be awesome about the publicity, and that is the use of Led Zeppelin’s ‘When The Levees Break.’
The Lincoln Lawyer
I already had the trailer for The Lincoln Lawyer when I did the preview, but there’s a sexy new poster. Sexy sexy, hot HOT!
No, not about the comic book character bastardized in that first Wolverine movie. This is rather a remake of the Michael Caine film Gambit. It appears that Colin Firth, who is currently in the race for an Oscar for The King’s Speech, is in talks to play the lead role. What makes the film interesting is that the Coen brothers have written the screenplay. They won’t be directing, that job will be taken by Michael Hoffman, who recently directed the excellent The Last Station, which told the story of the last few years of Leo Tolstoy’s life.
Gambit is about a cat burglar who enlists the services of a waitress to help rob a billionaire of a statue. As always happens to thieves, there is romantic tension. It really does always happen. The other day I was shoplifting my lunch (it was a Wednesday. It’s what I do on Wednesdays) and I locked eyes with the store clerk. He and I had a moment. Needless to say, there was tension.
I threw a slim jim at him and ran.
But not before he had my number.
And that, folks, is me reaching out to the gay Japanese community tuning in. I don’t give them enough love.
