The Great Gatsby
It appears Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby has found its Daisy. The ultra gorgeous and lovable Carey Mulligan has been offered the leading lady role. She’ll star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire. The weird part about this news is that Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively was in the running for a while. Huh? Don’t get me wrong, she has some perking looking cans, but she can barely act. She wasn’t bad in The Town, but she’s part of the problem with Green Lantern (Canadian Ryan Reynolds being the main problem, followed closely by the crap story), and she isn’t a great actress yet. Maybe she’ll develop, but right now she’s on a CW show. Not an Oscar winner.
Mulligan on the other hand is awesome. She was great in An Education, and really great in Never Let Me Go. Now if only I can find a way to replace Leonardo DiCaprio with… me.
Cars 2 Trailer
There’s another Cars 2 trailer up, this time with a bit more about the film. I don’t know much about the series, but it sounds like Micheal Caine is in the film. I will now see it.
Oh, Jason Statham is a badass. I already knew that, but this trailer for The Mechanic really drives the point home. Totally badass. Totally (I shall now totally overuse the word totally)
Next years totally awesome cult classic (cult classic meaning overrated by assholes who swear you should see it, meaning me) Paul has a new poster!
Pirates of the Caribbean
There’s a poster for the next Pirates of the Caribbean poster! Weee. I totally saw this coming. That’s what she said! Weee. This will spark debate as to how to pronounce Caribbean! You totally say it, “Ca-RIB-be-an.” and not “Car-i-BE-an.” I don’t know if that makes sense. For some reason this entire paragraph sounds in my head like Winnie the Pooh!
