Movie News for Harry Potter, Tree of Life, Dark Shadows, and more!

Bond gets a start date, Dark Shadows’ cast grows, Tree of Life and Harry Potter posters, and there’s a possibility of a new Justice League movie.

Though it still doesn’t have a name, Bond 23 will apparently start filming next November. Sam Mendes is still on board to direct the film, and Dame Judi Dench has said that she will begin filming in November. Technically, the film could start filming earlier, as she may not be filming the first scenes in the film, but it should be going sometime in November. The film is set to be released on November 9, 2012.

Dark Shadows

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton’s latest team up, Dark Shadows, has cast Thomas McDonell in the role of young Barnabas Collins. The older version will be played by Depp. Presumably this will be a flashback, but perhaps the film will start with the turning of Collins into a vampire or something. I really don’t know much about the show or the story, but it’s safe to make up crap for the sake of the internet. On that note, Barnabas Collins is a hermaphrodite vampire. YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST, PEOPLE!!!

Tree of Life

Tree of Life, the next film from Terrance Malick, has a new poster, and I think it means that there are a number of moments in your life, and you’ll remember them, blah blah blah. Dinosaur in one of the pics, don’t remember that. Sean Penn is a jerk no matter what film he’s in. Cool.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort are TOTALLY going to face off in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. I know because of the poster. They’re facing off. Called it.

Justice League

Jeff Robinov is taking over as president of Warner Bros. this week, and apparently he wants to get that Justice League movie made. Unlike Marvel’s method of having various movies made about their characters, and then combining said characters into a megafilm with The Avengers, Warners is going to make a Justice League film and see which characters are most popular, so they can make separate movies of the characters. No word yet on if Ryan Reynolds will play Green Lantern, but one can only hope he isn’t.
