‘Into the Woods’ follows a baker and his wife who struggle against the curse of a witch and along the way come across many classic fable characters. Oddly, the story might also deal a lot with the possibly noble quest of a witch, who seeks to teach valuable lessons to various fable characters, who are morons in general. There’ll be a witch, a big bad wolf, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel to fill the film’s story otherwise. Did we mention Johnny Depp?
Into the Woods
Into the Woods comes from director Rob Marshall, who made the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film, as well as Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha and Nine. He’s a talented dude. The film is based on a witch (Meryl Streep) who conspires to teach important lessons to various characters of popular children’s stories. Such characters in the movie are Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel.
The film is based on the novels by James Lapine and features a fair amount of star power as you can see below.
