Carol is known for her movies The Black Stallion, Never Cry Wolf, Nutcracker: The Motion Picture, Wind, Fly Away Home, Duma and Colter’s Run. The aging female director still manages to work hard in Hollywood, with a movie coming out in 2011.
Ballard also worked on Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope – as a Photographer.
FYI, Carroll Ballard is a man, not a woman. Easy mistake I suppose, but the spelling of his first name is typical for a man. Think Carroll O’Conner (male lead of All in the Family), Women usually spell it Carol.
