Hobo With a Shotgun (2011)

Hobo with a Shotgun is about… a hobo with a shotgun. Oh, and he’s fed up with society and goes on a rampage.

In order to make the film not TOO crazy, the society the hobo lives in is really messed up, like Robocop-style Detroit messed up, so he’s not such a bad guy. The film is based on a fake Grindhouse trailer that looked like such a good idea that it’s now a film with Rutger Hauer.

Hobo With a Shotgun

The fake trailer and film are the brainchild of Jason Eisener. He hasn’t really done much so far, but he did make a short film called Treevenge, which I assume is another Grindhouse style movie, but about trees that get revenge. I don’t know how I figured that out, but it just came to me.

What’s Good About It?

It’s a movie about a HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN. Duh. It’s going to be awesome.

What’s Bad About It?

I wish the film wouldn’t adhere so strictly to the Grindhouse style. I’d rather they make it seriously, but with the concept intact, so that it’s still crazy.

Our Clever Prediction

Cult classic, but it won’t make lots of money. Too bad. Maybe the filmmaker will get some more chances because of it. Here’s hoping.
