Henry’s Crime (2011)

Henry’s Crime is a romantic comedy about a man who is falsely accused of a bank robbery and sent to prison. When he gets out, he falls in love with a woman and decides to rob that bank that he already spent time in prison for robbing.

Henry is just a nice, normal guy. When he’s sent to prison for bank robbery, he meets a few men on the inside who know a thing or two about robbing banks. When he gets out, he uses his new friends to help him rob a bank. It’s supposed to be funny or something. The worst part is the tag line: “If you’ve done the time, do the crime.”

Shoot me in the face.

Henry’s Crime

Henry’s Crime is directed by Malcolm Venville, who last directed The 44 Inch Chest. The film makes me nervous because there are three men credited with writing the screenplay. Too many chefs in the kitchen. Heck, I think I wrote a draft or two at some point.

What’s Good About It?

The trailer looks okay, and I really like James Caan.

What’s Bad About It?

I worry that the film is all concept and has crappy writing. And I know a thing or two about crappy writing. Just look at this preview!!

Our Clever Prediction

The limited release obviously means that the film will make little money. It’s surprising, since Keanu used to be a pretty big star. Then people figured out that it was just the Matrix films and everything else he’s done has been stupid. Actually that includes two-thirds of the Matrix trilogy.

Only two-thirds though. I loved the third one. ZING!
