Cold Light of Day (2012)

Cold Light of Day is an action film about a young man who finds out his father is a CIA agent, and he gets pulled into a tale of international intrigue in order to save his family. Oh, and it stars SUPERMAN.

Will Shaw (Henry Cavill) is a young trader on Wall Street. On a vacation in Spain, his family is kidnapped. He subsequently finds out his father (Bruce Willis) is a CIA agent.

He now has to bring the bad guys a briefcase within 21 hours or his family is dead. He doesn’t know who to trust. At some point, someone may say, “Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird. It’s a Plane! It’s… SUPERMAN!”

Cold Light of Day

Mabrouk El Mechri is directing Cold Light of Day. The only film of his I’ve heard of is JVCD, which was pretty cool.

Scott Wiper and John Petro wrote the film. Wiper previously wrote The Condemned, which starred Stone Cold Steve Austin, so you know this guy is a future Oscar winner.

What’s Good About It?

He leaps from a tall building in a single bound! WHAT’S NOT TO LIKE?

What’s Bad About It?

Henry Cavill isn’t exactly a great actor. I’ll blame at least some of it on the dialogue, but he does not pull those lines off.

Our Clever Prediction

I’m going to make a very bold prediction for Cold Light of Day: it won’t make as much money as Man of Steel.

Nailed it.
