`Survivor’ meets’ Friday the 13th” in this suspense-oriented twist on the unscripted-show format. Appropriately enough, 13 contestants are thrust into a mystery in the Louisiana bayou, with one person vanishing’ each week.

Many of the challenges put to them are taken from classic horror-film scenarios; the series’ producers include someone well-versed in the genre, filmmaker Sam Raimi, who was more “Evil Dead” than ‘Spider-Man’ originally. The player who makes it all the way to the end of the competition will win a prize that’s also in keeping with the spooky theme: $66,666.

Beverly Hills, 90210 gets a facelift in this somewhat edgier teen drama sene through the eyes of Annie and Dixon Mills, whose father, Harry, has relocated their family from Kansas to Beverly Hills, to keep an eye on their grandma, Tabitha, a fading former TV star and graduate of the Betty Ford Clinic.

The culcture shock of being the new kids’ at West Beverly Hills High School isn’t made any easier for Annie and Dixon by their dad’s new position as principal at the school, but the close-knit siblings give each other support as they navigate their clique-heavy new surroundings, where their classmates include spoiled rich girl Naomi, talented jock Ethan, aspiring reporter Navid and rebel homemade video star Silver.
