Welcome to Greens & Grains, the Ohio family-owned grocery store where the greens and grains can’t compete with the flakes running the place. The new manager is Leslie Pool, who has returned to his hometown to run the store bequeathed to him by his father. His staff includes Carl, a sweet-natured stock boy; Yolanda, the produce manager; Buck, the bagger, who is attending night school in pursuit of loftier career goals; Ingrid, the mild-mannered customer service representative and Renaissance festival enthusiast; Richard, the cashier with ice-dancing dreams spinning in his head; and Todd, a butcher who yearns to become a stock-car driver.

Throwing a pall over all these hopes and dreams is the Super Value Mart just down the street. Can Greens & Grains withstand this superstore competition, or will Leslie and his staff be forced to bag it all?

Atlanta firefighter Curtis “Pops” Payne thinks his home is his castle, but he needs a bigger moat: His nephew CJ and kids have invaded the place for an extended stay, and money-challenged son Calvin also keeps showing up, mainly around meal time and on laundry day.

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne is a new comedy series about a multigenerational, working class family who experiences all of life’s struggles with faith, love and most importantly humor. Pops, the uncle and head of the household, has his life and home turned upside down when an unexpected event forces his nephew, CJ, played by Allen Payne, and CJ’s kids to move into the house, putting three generations under one roof.

This chaotic living situation takes its toll on cranky Pops, who is reluctant to have his routine disturbed. In addition to CJ’s family, Pops and Ella’s son, Calvin, a wise-cracking college kid with no money, hangs out at home which makes it impossible for Pops to have any peace and quiet. It soon becomes evident just how wide the generation gap is, as the family tries to find a way to coexist through all of life’s hilarious ups and downs.

Putting the family back in family comedy, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne tackles real life issues with very funny humor.

Denver family counselor Bill Pearson spends most of his days trying to settle family squabbles — and then he has to go into work. Actually, compared to some of the dysfunctional people who parade through his office, Bill’s at-home brood is pretty normal and down to earth. Susan, his wife, is a stay-at-home mom, but even so she has her hands full with teenage daughter Lauren, high school jock and video-game enthusiast Trent and their musically gifted kid brother, Bryan, a neat freak. Outside the home, Bill’s two best friends share the professional building where he works: Bob Spoonerman, a podiatrist who is constantly tempting Bill into frat-boy behavior, and Paul DuFrayne, a hair-replacement specialist who is a mite jealous of what he perceives as Bill and Susan’s domestic bliss.
