Alvin and The Chipmunks : Chip-Wrecked (2011)

Update for this new Chipmunk Movie! Alvin and The Chipmunks has a new name and its called ‘: Chip-Wrecked ‘. This is, you guessed it, a third film in the half live action, half CGI series, but this time, it’s in 3D!

The sequel to a Squeakquel?

All together now, these half live action, half CGI film are hard on my eyes, somewhat corny, but I guess thats what I expect when I walk into a movie based around talking Chipmunks? Right?

The new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie appears to be based on the premise that they are stranded, hence the name ‘Chip-Wrecked’ in the title. I do know the studio wants to milk this sucker for all it’s worth, so it’ll be in 3D.

Alvin and the Chipmunks are on a cruise vacation where the boys and the Chipettes are wreaking havoc. They become ‘chipwrecked’ on a deserted island, and Dave searches for his friends while the lost Chipmunks get crazy on their new location.

The crew makes a new friend on the Cruise Liner, who proves to be more than a handful for everyone.

What’s Good About It?

Well, my kids loved the movies so far, so I guess once we just accept the target audience, the Chipmunks are ok with me.

What’s Bad About It?

There are two sides to the bad on this film. Side one: half live action. Side two: half CGI. Some like it, some hate it, you know where I stand.

I lied. There’s a third. Side Three: 3D.

Our Clever Prediction

The first made $358 Million worldwide, and the second made $442 million worldwide. Holy crap. The third may actually make over $500 million with the additional price of 3D.

My God.

  1. This guy is right. Why be cheap Hollywood? Why do you use CGI? Get out there and find 3 talking/singing Chipmunks, and make sure one is wearing glasses! How hard could that be?! Oh, and come on man, nobody is doing that lame 3D stuff, so cut it out Chipmunks.

Why do people that never had a childhood, or know about Innocent fun always grow up to be movie critics?

I’ll be seeing it fer sher. If for no other reason just because a critic dissed it which usually means it’s good.

  2. Can’t wait to see it :3333

I’m going to see it the day it comes out, just like the last two~

but..the idea that a Lady Gaga song is going to be on it, scares me…

  3. CAN’T WAIT! Loved the 1st and 2nd ones! YAY! Going to see it the 1st day it comes out!
