A Walk Among the Tombstones is a revenge thriller about a private detective who helps a husband find the men responsible for killing his wife.
Liam Neeson plays the detective. He used to be a cop, but one day, while having a drink, he was present in a bar when it was robbed. He chased down the robbers, killed 2, and injured the third. But one of the shots he fired bounced off the concrete and hit an innocent. Since he was drinking, it appears he was fired from the force. So now he’s a PI.
He’s hired by a man whose wife was kidnapped. The husband paid the ransom, but the kidnappers killed his wife anyways. So now he wants revenge. But this is a case that goes a lot deeper than that. The husband is also a gang leader, and there have been several gang member kidnapped. This is a dangerous case, with more violence than either man would have thought possible.
A Walk Among the Tombstones
A Walk Among the Tombstones comes from director Scott Frank, who also wrote the screenplay, which is based on the book by Lawrence Block. Block wrote My Blueberry Nights, so he has a degree of talent. Frank wrote a draft of The Wolverine, Marley & Me, Minority Report, and a bunch of other films. He recently wrote and directed The Lookout, which wasn’t half bad.

Honestly, I don’t have a negative thing to say right now. I’m super excited for this. There aren’t enough old fashioned crime stories anymore.
Our Clever Prediction
A Walk Among the Tombstones looks like a solid flick for Liam Neeson, who has proved time and again he’s capable of playing a total badass butt-kicker. I don’t know that this will make bajillions of dollars at the box office, but it looks good. If it had a line like the one in Taken, it might make bank, but there’s no moment like that in the trailer.
