30 Minutes or Less is about a pizza delivery man who undergoes one wild and crazy night.
While delivering pizza one evening, Nick is kidnapped by two criminals, who force him to help rob a bank. And they want it done in 30 minutes or less.
Like those pizza commercials!
I have some faith in 30 Minutes or Less as it’s directed by Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer. Fleischer doesn’t have a lot of other work to his name, outside of writing a bunch of episodes of Rob and Big for MTV, so if it wasn’t for Zombieland, I’d be worried. Fortunately, he does have Zombieland, and I’ve now officially said Zombieland a billion times in this paragraph.
Anyways, this is the first script by writers Matthew Sullivan and Michael Diliberti, so it’s hard to say if they have the chops to pull off a summer comedy. Still, they have Jesse Eisenberg and Danny McBride in the cast, so they may have a hit on their hands.

I just finished my first screenplay. It’s about a young guy who invents a really popular website, but decides to deliver pizzas instead. Then a zombie apocalypse happens.
Oh, and he’s Jewish.
Does anyone have Jesse Eisenberg’s phone number?
Zombieland, Dude, Where’s my Car?, Adventureland, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (not really)
What’s Good About It?
Zombieland rocked my balls. Rocked them. I’m a fan of Eisenberg, and it looks like this is the perfect type of film for him. I bet his character is super neurotic. Danny McBride is really funny on occasion, and if the film is half what Zombieland was, then I’m in.
I hope he hits Bill Murray with his bike.
I like how I naturally assume a pizza is delivered on a bike. Now all I can think about is Paperboy.
Man, cocaine is like… yeah.
What’s Bad About It?
First time writers frighten me. You just never know, y’know? Totally. Anyways. McBride is also really stupid and not funny sometimes, so this may end up a let down. Here’s hoping it’s a winner and not a loser.
Our Clever Prediction
Eisenberg’s definitely a rising star. If The Social Network is big, then he may have just enough star power to actually pull in some good numbers at the box office. This next year is also especially important in the career of Danny McBride. He has more than a couple films coming out, and he’s starring, or at least has a big role, in all of them. If people aren’t sick of him by the time 30 Minutes or Less comes out, then this might make a fair bit of money at the box office.
And I will probably enjoy it.
